Our Treasures

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
(Matthew 6:19-21 NIV)

God has nothing against our treasures.
What counts is the place they occupy.
It is the place that the treasures occupy that determines where we invest time, strength and hope.

This target determines our behavior.
Jesus said that the place we want to be in is close to our treasure; and that's where we'll end up.

What do we value most?

May we find strength and willingness to pray and ask the Father to heal us of the possessiveness that so often wants to cling to us.
