Beyond crumbs

Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
(John 1: 16,17)

Our lives are the result of God's generosity. We get presents everyday, a lot of them.

Accustomed to the crumbs, regulated by the Law, it was, and still is, difficult to understand the abundance of God.

God does not ration grace, does not gradually distribute.
Generously, extravagantly, he reveals himself through Jesus Christ.

What a change from the way we were accustomed to. We depended on crumbs.

Now it's a party with plenty of food, a real banquet.
It is the new of God, "grace upon grace."
